Police

Today I went to the Southfield Police Department for a school field trip, if you call it that. They gave us a tour of the Department and it was not that interesting as I thought it was going to be. I think the most interesting part of the tour was the K9 demonstration. The police officer brought out his dog to show how the dog reacts to having marijuana in a drawer. Also, another police officer put on a padded coat where the dog attacks him and bites him.

The rest of the tour was okay. I was really hoping we would get to see the jail but that didn't happen. If I become a police officer, I definitely want to be a K9 police officer. I would love to have a dog with me and it seems more interesting than just being a police officer.

As the days go by I get more irritated because I'm still kind of unsure if this is what I really want to do. I look at criminal justice as a very interesting major and the classes I have taken are very intriguing. But more CJ classes I take, it's repetitive information which I guess would obviously happen but I'm getting bored with it. So as of right now I'm at a crossroads in what I really want to do.

P.S. I can't wait for Thanksgiving! I mean everyone is making a big deal about Christmas and Thanksgiving hasn't even arrived yet! Thanksgiving definitely gets the shaft when it comes to the holidays. It's holiday to be thankful for what you have in your life!

21st Birthday!! Best Weekend!:)

Okay I have not been using my blog lately but I figure since it was my 21st B-day on the 13th why not?!
I had an absolute BLAST this weekend! On friday night we went to Amy's house and they surprised me with a huge cupcake that Amy made! It was wasn't cooked all the way but it was good! Then Amy dyed my hair RED! And it turned out really GOOD!
Then Saturday finally came and I had to go shopping for a sexy outfit Went to Express and found two skirts and a dress shirt all for $37! Pretty good for Express! Then Matt & Amy did my hair/makeup and well look at the above picture, it pretty much says it all!! If I ever become famous they are going to be my GLAM squad! Then we went out to eat at Hayden's and Sharon(my boss) got me a $15 gift card there so I got a my first legal drink and it was okay. The food was really good, I would go back again!

Then I opened my gifts and I got a lot of sweet stuff! Then it was time to get wasted and go to Necto! It was such a fun time, probably one of the best times I've had at a club! Also, it's safe to say that everyone else had a great time too! Even Chelsea who wanted to stay 5 seconds and ended up staying the entire time!! We pretty much danced the night away the entire time we were there! All of us at one point got on the stage and danced! I must of been drunk enough to do that!!

Then on Sunday I went to Dave & Busters with my two cousins and that was also a lot of fun! We got majorly lost but in the end it was just as fun! I definitely want to hang out with them more, I forgot how much fun it is to hang out with them! So this weekend was the best weekend I've had in such a long time! OH YEAH I won $20 bucks on a $1 lotto ticket my bro got me!

Quick & Simple.

I haven't posted for a while. Haven't really had too much to say I suppose. Just been working and going to school. On friday night I went to Canada to see Dierks Bentley in concert with Amy! It was a lot of fun but I wish it was a little bit longer though. Then Saturday night Nathan, Matt & Chelsea came over and we watched scary movies all night pretty much!

One thing that I have been thinking a lot about lately is kids for some reason. Kids are very stressful to take care of and all the times that they push your buttons but the times when they make you laugh or just see in their eyes that they feel safe in your arms makes it all worth it. I know I want kids (adopted & biological) one day but not anytime soon. I love the time I get to spend with my nieces and nephews and thats enough for right now!
I miss my boys♥

Luciana, Delilah, Thomas, & Chad♥

So I haven't posted in a couple of days. On friday I went to IKEA with Cindy! I haven't seen her since Labor Day weekend. She wrote me a really great letter of recommendation for this scholarship I'm going to apply for. We had a good time even though it was a short time. We didn't buy anything at IKEA but we did buy food and it was really good! PIIZZA fresh out of the oven! Then the fire alarm went off but 3 minutes after it went off they came on the loud speaker saying it was a test! Couldn't you have told us that beforehand!! But anyways it was great seeing Cindy since she is at Grand Valley so I don't see her as much.

Then yesterday on Saturday I went to my sister Bridget's house in Grand Haven! Its about a 3 hour trip from my house and so it was an all day thing. We left about 730 or 8. We stopped at McDonald's for breakfast and I got a free med. fry from the monopoly! So now I'm going to try to get my places and try to win some money or something! So we arrived at Bridget's at about 11 and we stayed until 3 or so. It was a fun day. I love spending time with my family and I got to spend a little more time with my older brother Larry. It was great seeing Bridget and my nephews, I miss them a lot! Also, the food was really good of course lol. I love food as you can tell!

Overall, it was a really good day and later that night me and Amy went shopping. I bought a jacket and a cover up. Then we stayed at my house for a while just doing nothing. We made some goofy photos as well! I will share those some other time!

Set the Fire to the Third Bar

Let's just start off by saying that I'm major fans of Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie! I am in love with them pretty much. Everyone I know knows that! What's not to love about them? They are both great actors and have great movies. They are both humanitarians who has done so much good in the world. Brad has his Make it Right foundation http://www.makeitrightnola.org/ He is helping rebuild the lower ninth ward of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit. Angelina has been a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Ambassador since 2001. She has visited over 20 countries visting internally displaced persons. Together they have donated millions of dolars each year through the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. But probably their biggest endeavor they have taken on is becoming parents to six children.

I love the fact that these pictures show that after being together for 5 1/2 years that they are still very much in love. It's kind of funny how so many celebrity couples have been breaking up left and right lately but Brad & Angie are the ones in the tabloids each week saying they're going to break up. They seem to not pay attention to the tabloids and they don't care. It goes to show you that they seem to be in it for the long haul and are stronger than ever.

Okay enough of all this mushy crap! And yes I know I am a major dork but I really don't care! I should be writing two papers now but I always seem to get distracted.

I love this song!

Just a little bit of everything.

Today I woke up about 12 like always:) but today I woke up because of my dream that I had. The dream was about me getting shot 3 times in my backyard and I was still running around trying to get away even though I was shot 3 times! I don't know who the person was who shot me, some black guy. I got shot in the arm and when I woke up my arm hurt real bad. I thought it was so weird.

So last night I watched Reviving Ophelia on lifetime. It was a decent movie I suppose for a lifetime movie. The movie was based on the book Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls by Mary Pipher. I've never read the book but it's on my list.

Someone who beats up there significant other because they have anger issues or have the genetic factor of their parents being abusive is NOT okay in my book. Now usually it's men who beat up women which is mostly true but after watching Teen Mom it could also be women beating up men. When women are in a abusive relationship, they usually blame themselves for their partner's outburst on them! And this is not okay and it never will be okay. It's never your fault that a man hits you. Just because you might of made him mad does not justify what he did was okay. Well, I could go on forever talking about this but I will stop where I am at.

Today and well always people never cease to amaze me. I don't get people at all especially people who are close to me. That's why I can never trust anyone and I don't depend on people anymore. I have stopped doing that when I was little when people always let me down. Even if it was a little thing. Nothing is ever absolute.

Here is something to lighten up this post!

I love pandas! Some of you already know that.

Don't let this turn into something it's not, I can only give you everything I've got.

Okay, I'm giving this a go! My friends started a blog and I didn't even think I would start one too. Maybe this can be a place where I can vent about anything I am feeling at any moment. As of right now I have a lot of things on my mind but right now I'm just going to go with who I am.
I'm Betsy, I'm 20 years old about to be 21 in a month! I go to college to study Criminal Justice and I'm undecided on what I'm going to be. I can be outgoing but I can be shy around people I don't know.  I love my family and friends. I don't trust a lot of people and I guess I can be well guarded around people I just meet. I love to read books and my goal for the year is to read 25 books and I'm only on book 17! I work at China Gate Restaurant and have been for like 6 years. I'm weird but who isn't? I love to watch movies and listen to music. I've even consider being a movie critic because I always seemed to criticize movies.

Okay that's it for now.
Oh yeah I miss Up North terribly!
